OPI DS Indulgence, Orly Voyeuristic Adventure, & Bundle Monster

So I had my first ever manicure/pedicure appointment last Tuesday and it was fun! I was initially drawn to OPI Teenage Dream because I don't have it and OMG GLITTER but OPI DS Indulgence caught my eye and I figured it'd be a bit more holiday-y than a cotton candy glitterfest. lol

I also got OPI DS Tourmaline on my toes and it's so sparkly and pretty and girly, a perfect toe polish! I'll have to be on the lookout for that one and DS Titanium as well, both are really pretty.

Another reason I chose Indulgence was because I knew I could stamp over it when I got home! : P
I just received my recent Bundle Monster order and I truly love these plates... I got BM613, BM609, BM401, BM426, and BM415. I was especially looking forward to BM415, it's been on my wishlist for a while- I love all the designs! I'll try to get a pic of my new plates, they're great!

I've really been wanting to play with some gear imagery, so stamping with Orly Voyeuristic Adventure I used both BM415 and BM609 to create some accent nails.

Hit Polish To Space & Beyond and my 1st Deborah Lippmanns!

I've wanted a Deborah Lippmann polish ever since I saw the bottle... it's so chunky and weighty and lovely!

Lately, Ultas that carry the line have been clearancing some of the bottles out. I was able to get Boom Boom Pow, Lara's Theme, Walking on Sunshine, and Spring Buds for ~$2.50 each. I'll take it! The three cremes aren't much to write home about, but I figure I can always use them as undies for more interesting polish. Plus, they make a cute mini collection... and I would've felt bad leaving any at the store- they belong together!

And to continue with the awesome polish news, I received my second Hit Polish order! YAY!
I need to take a haul picture, I purchased four drop-dead gorgeous glitter bombs and lots of delicious-smelling cuticle oils. The first polish I tried out is To Space and Beyond, a blue/gold/holo glitterfest. The density is just perfect and it applies like a dream, it even dries smooth! I layered it over two coats of OPI Ink (a gorgeous flecky blurple).

On two fingers, I layered a couple coats of Lippmann Boom Boom Pow over Orly Voyeuristic Adventure.
On the rest, I did two coats of OPI Ink and stamped a sweater design using the Orly and MoYou Festive 6. Love that plate!

I've been enjoying these mix and match looks, it keeps things interesting and I'm able to try out more polishes and stamp images. Plus, I don't have as many nails to stamp crooked! lol

Christmas stamping!

I've been having fun with some holiday looks, both are stamped of course!

For this look, I used China Glaze Glittering Garland (green glitter) and Define Good... (metallic burgundy), Orly Voyeuristic Adventure (champagne gold), SinfulShine Wisp (white creme), and Sinful Colors Holiday Rebel (Christmas glitter). The holly and stars were stamped using MoYou plate Festive 06... love that plate!

I used MoYou Festive 06 again, this time the snowflake design. I started with two coats of OPI 4 in the Morning, a satin black and stamped using Orly Voyeuristic Adventure and Fresh Paint Dreamcatcher and Arrowhead (metallic blue and pink). The Fresh Paints stamped quite well, cleanup was a bit more involved since they have some kind of micro flake in them and my cleanup brush wasn't doing a good job picking the extra up, just kinda smeared it around. A good handwashing once the polish dried took care of the little glittery bits afterwards though.

More stamping fun!

SQUEEE! Stamping is just the best! If it's not obvious yet, I've been having lots of fun with my plates... especially now that I've received my MoYou order with the lovely XL stamper. It's seriously a night and day difference!

My latest haul...
China Glaze gift set (Define Good, No Peeking, and Dancing & Prancing)
NY Color Skyline Blue & Grand Central Station- my new favorite top coat!! Cheap, easy, and works great!
Dip-It polish remover from Target- works amazing! So much easier, especially for glitter. Orly Mirrorball (backup polish) & the free remover from Sally's
A couple Finger Paints polishes and the free holo phone/wallet case from Sally's Messy Mansion plates MM18 & MM24
Cheeky squishy rectangle stamper off Amazon
MoYou XL stamper and plates: Gothic 10, Festive 06, SciFi 06, Pro 04, & Fairytale 02
Not shown are the two Born Pretty plates I received yesterday, 01 and 24.

First time using the XL stamper and the Pro plate, this is Sinful Colors Black on Black over what I was wearing, China Glaze Don't Let the Dead Bite.

This is what I'm currently wearing, Orly Voyeuristic Adventure stamped over China Glaze Define Good using Born Pretty 24.

I was in love with my previous mani, this is OPI 4 in the Morning stamped with Orly Voyeuristic Adventure using MoYou Gothic 10. I love the cathedral windows and the face on my middle nail, so cool... and since it's a landscape designed plate, I was able to get images to cover my thumbs completely.

Sinful Colors Vintage & OPI Oy! Another Polish Joke

Another nice combination, this is two coats of Sinful Colors Vintage and then a coat of OPI's pretty gold Oy! Another Polish Joke. Though everything dried smooth, I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for longer wear... going three days now!
Vintage is really nice, the formula has a good thickness making it easy to work with. Not really captured in the photos is the uniqueness of Polish Joke, it looks like super super fine milled gold, green, and copper glitter! Together, the two polishes really make an interesting look... equally green and gold, it shifts back and forth- love it!

I picked up Polish Joke for $1.69 on clearance at Ulta... my last name from my previous marriage is Polish and I love it- both the name and the polish! Polish polish! Ha!

OPI Today I Accomplished Zero

I picked this polish up from Ulta the other day, I was hoping it'd scan as being on clearance, but no such luck! I couldn't bear to leave it though since I've been wanting it for a while, so home it came. This is OPI Today I Accomplished Zero, from their summer 2014 Coca-Cola collaberation.

This is two very easy coats, the formula was thick, but in a way that made it super easy to get the polish in a nice curve along my cuticle. It did dry textured, a sort-of smooth bumpiness because of the glitter. I didn't top coat it, it didn't seem to really need it.

The polish is a bit of a bear to remove, the glitter wants to staaayyy on your nail and if it can't, it'll go everywhere else instead! I really need to pick up one of those plastic remover tubs, I've read they're great for glitter polishes.

OPI Don't Talk Bach to Me & Orly Lavish Bash

This is one of those polishes that tooks me a while to come around to. I saw a couple bottles on clearance at Ulta for $.50 each... but ehhh, I wasn't loving them in the bottle, even though lime-y acid greens are totally my thing.
WELL.
I got home and started looking up bloggers' swatches and really, really liked it- especially for $.50!
I ran back to Ulta the next day and grabbed both bottles... no regrets!
This is two coats of Don't Talk Bach to Me then a layer of one of my all-time favorite glitter toppers, Orly Lavish Bash. It added just the right golden sparkle to Bach, without covering up the unique green color.
I think I'll need to wear Bach again soon... it'd look great with some spiders for Halloween!

OPI Blue Chips

This is officially my 100th post! So, yeah, that's kinda cool. : )

For a special post, I'll feature a special polish... this is OPI Blue Chips- an OPI Mystery Polish!

Until recently, I didn't know TJ Maxx and Marshall's sold polish, much less nice brands like OPI and Orly. I went to both stores and found lots of two packs of OPI polishes with unique names. Some of the polishes looked familiar though...
I found this lovely post on imabeautygeek.com and aha! Mystery solved!

I picked up several sets, this "Blue Chips" was part of one of them. Turns out it's really The Flowers are Blue-Ming from the 2012 Ulta collection. I'm not really a bright blue polish kind of gal, but the scattered holographic bits sold me... it's so pretty, especially in the bottle. This is two coats; it does dry kind of gritty and the holo bits don't show up inside very well. I meant to put a layer of Fairy Dust or Shine on Crazy Diamond over top, but I forgot. Next time!

YAY for good deals!

Last Tuesday morning, I went out hunting for good polish deals and happily, I found some!

I picked up the last bottle of Color Club The Uptown whose formula has recently been reformulated so now I have a backup. Ulta's clearance section has supplied most of my collection, this trip I found a lovely maroon shimmer by SpaRitual with the prettiest name- Days of Wine and Roses. It reminds me of the book I'm reading, 'The Passage' by Justin Cronin. So yes, I did get this half for the name. : D

Five Below had the Halloween glow-in-the-dark polishes, but I didn't pick any of them up. I may go back for the orange Pumpkin King, but this time I picked up several backup bottles and the rest of the neon rave collection and Varsity Blue.

It was the first time I looked for polish in Marshall's and they had a great selection! It was hard to limit what I brought home, but a two-pack of Orlys and a couple of the OPI Duos with mystery names needed to come with me, also a pretty blue Mariah Carey glitter.

And finally, the main reason I went out, I grabbed a couple Essie nail strips from Dollar Tree! I found the two styles that I wanted, I'm happy about that. I've never worn nail strips/stickers/etc so we'll see how that goes some time in the near future...

OPI Warm Me Up & Orly Lavish Bash

I used a couple layers of OPI Warm Me Up, a shimmery brown that my bf says stinks to high heaven. He's never mentioned a polish's smell before, but perhaps there's something different about this polish because I think it's pretty smelly, too.
I topped the brown with a coat of Orly's pretty gold glitter topper, Lavish Bash. It dries pretty smooth for a glitter, I didn't feel the need for a top coat.

OPI I Theodora You

What a nice pink, this is OPI I Theodora You, from their 2013 Oz the Great & Powerful collection.

I've been looking for a good pink polish that isn't too in-your-face, something soft and pretty and just a nice clean color. I Theodora You is perfect for that. This is three simple coats, less than three and it's pretty sheer. I topped it with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
The color stayed looking great for days, eventually some air got under the polish on my index finger and I figured that was the sign for me to change colors.
I'm really happy with this color, it's pleasant to look at and wear.

Interestingly enough, I finally saw Oz the Great & Powerful movie last weekend... it was not good. : (

OPI Lights of Emerald City

Even though my polish was getting a little worn, been installing laminate wood floors in my bf's rental house, I couldn't help but play with at least one of the new polishes I picked up on clearance yesterday at Ulta.
This is OPI Lights of Emerald City, a nifty glitter topper with small gold iridescent square glitter and white square glitters that are a bit larger. I'd looked at getting this one before, but for $.78 I had to bring it home!

There was nice glitter coverage, I used one coat. I played around with the white squares just a bit so they weren't overlapping. I could have gotten more on my nails, but it was getting late and I figured this would do. I'm impressed with how smooth the polish dried, no corners sticking up that I can tell and it didn't take long to dry either. I give it 4 stars! It'll be fun to play with over different base colors.

OPI Green on the Runway

So I know I keep saying how much I love the polishes I've been wearing lately... well, here's another one! lol

This is OPI Green on the Runway, their Sprite-inspired offering from the recent Coca-Cola collaberation. I so rarely purchase a brand-spankin' newly released polish, but I HAVE NO REGRETS!
Green on the Runway is probably my most duochrome-y duochrome, you can truly see both the metallic green *and* brown at the same time on each nail. The others I have, it seems you have to have your nails at a particular angle to see the change, but not this one! Oh no, this baby's not playing around!
The formula is darn near a one-coater, but two coats made the color nice and rich... and of coarse application was a breeze. I did use Insta-Dri on top, but just because I knew I'd want to keep this polish on for as long as possible.
I'm resisting SO BAD getting multiple bottles, but let's be honest... as soon as I see them in a store, they'll be coming home. I'd just hate for this to turn into one of those polishes that become difficult to find and expensive... because yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll always need to have a bottle or two of this gorgeous color on hand.

OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby.

OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. is just a great polish... formula is super easy to manipulate, wonderfully opaque, and dries quickly to a pretty satin-matte finish.

I played around with different glitters and polishes last night and I kept coming back to this one to wear... it's clean and simple without being boring. Not having to wait forever for it to dry is a huge bonus, too!
This is two easy coats, no top coat needed.

OPI Alcatraz... Rocks

You ever have a polish that you love... but you've never worn it?

OPI Alcatraz... Rocks is that polish for me. I love the shimmer, love the name, love the Liquid Sand texture. I guess I just haven't been in a blue mood lately? Either way, this polish is gorgeous, just like I knew it would be.

So easy to apply and it dries very quickly. I actually only applied one coat, I like the lighter color and the opacity is really pretty good! I did do two coats on my left thumb, the color is darker, but just as lovely. I was trying to showcase the absolutely stunning gold shimmer in the last two photos, they didn't turn out the best... but the polish is gorgeous in person!

LA Girl Burst

I don't have a great sheer pink yet... I have a few, but they're soo sheer that it takes too many coats to get the color and opacity where I want it.

For this result, I started with OPI No Bees Please, then a coat of Rimmel French Rose, then NY Color Pink Champagne, then another coat of French Rose. Layered over top is a coat of LA Girl's wonderful rose and holographic glitter, Burst.

The pink color got where I wanted it to, but that many layers took ages to set. I let everything dry before adding the glitter, Burst is smooth enough so I didn't add top coat.

OPI Miami Beet & LA Girl Burst

This was a pretty simple manicure, just a single coat of OPI Miami Beet then a couple layers of LA Girl Burst. I liked the way the holographic glitter bits in Burst modified Miami Beet's fuschia a bit.
Miami Beet isn't one of my favorite colors on its own, but the formula is great. Same for Burst.

OPI Which is Witch? & Rimmel Steel Grey

I topped Rimmel Steel Grey with a couple easy coats of OPI Which is Witch? It's a nice glitter topper in a clear base, there are medium circles, microglitter, and teeny bar glitters- all holographic.
The two coats dried quickly and pretty smoothly. It's been wearing well also. Apologies for the tip wear!

OPI No Bees Please & China Glaze Travel in Colour

I was so happy when I brought up two mini bottles of China Glaze Travel in Colour to the register at Ulta and they rang up as $.01 each! So, yeah I bought both... wish they'd had more!
I wore three coats of OPI No Bees Please for a day or two, then put a layer of Travel in Colour over it, no top coat needed. Travel in Colour is so pretty, it's the finest fuchsia shimmer in a clear base, but when you look really close there's actually turquoise shimmer too! The formula was great and the shimmer it adds is really pretty... not to mention the killer price I got it for!

OPI Magazine Cover Mouse

I've really been enjoying OPI's Liquid Sand polishes these past few days! They apply easily, wear well, and are just so sparkly!
This is OPI Magazine Cover Mouse and unfortunately the pictures don't do justice to the pretty sparkle this polish has. It's a nice strawberry red with gold and pink shimmery glitter. I didn't use any top coat, maybe next time.
