Sally Hansen Moonstone, NOPI Challenge Red-Y, & Born Pretty

Christmas nails! YAY!

I didn't want to spend a lot of time on them since I knew I had a manicure appointment coming up, so I just had fun and did some simple stamping and glitter-fying.
I did learn that two coats of Sally Hansen Moonstone makes a nice pearly base for stamping, I then used NOPI Challenge Red-Y and Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the stamping and as undies for Funky Fingers glitterbomb Fra-Gee-Lay.
The stamping plate I used is Born Pretty 01, it stamps really well!

Orly Rococo A-Go-Go & Sally Hansen Debut-Tint

This is a couple coats of Orly Rococo A Go-Go, then a thin layer of Sally Hansen's gold shimmer Debut-Tint.
I'm not super thrilled with this look, it's nice and all, but I think I'll be doing something different tonight. It reminds me of Seche Nostalgic, which I have and love, but if I wanted that look I would've work that! lol

Orly Masked Ceremony & Sally Hansen Pearly Whites

This look is a couple layers of Orly Masked Ceremony topped with Sally Hansen irridescent shard topper, Pearly Whites. Many times I want to like shard-y glitter, but I have a hard time with liking the look. This, though, is pretty cool!

I think it's because the shards blend in with Masked Ceremony, just leaving little confetti bursts of color. I got good coverage with Pearly Whites, I think that helps too... more sparkly shards = me liking it more!

I like Masked Ceremony on its own, but it kinda swallows its own glitters (white squares and fuchsia teenies) so another polish giving it that umph helps it along.

Orly Pebble & Sally Hansen Debut-Tint

This is Orly Pebble, I picked it up as part of a two-pack at Marshall's. Love this color! Totally worth the $3!

It's interesting how different the two photos turned out... the color is more like the top photo.
I used two coats of Pebble, but not every nail really needed two coats. A while ago, I read on a blogger's site how much she loved Sally Hansen Debut-Tint and I'm so glad I took her advice and picked up a couple bottles of it on clearance at Ulta- it's awesome!
Debut-Tint doesn't just add gold shimmer, there's also copper and green in there, though the pictures don't do it any justice.
I'm holding a bottle of ShinfulShine Prosecco, someone was asking if there are any dupes for Prosecco out there and I think this layering combo is a decent recreation if you can't get your hands on the hard to find Prosecco. I had to trade for mine, local Walgreen's seem to be slimming down their SinfulShine offerings lately, but thankfully some of the core colors can be found at WalMart.

And yes, I have nubbins again. Le sigh. My right pinky got caught in my dog's collar and snapped right off, all the way down. It would take too long for it to catch up to the others so off they all came. : (

Fresh Paint Pistachio & Sally Hansen Disco Ball

I picked up a few clearance polishs at Five Below, a couple bottles of Pistachio were among those. It's a very pretty green, light and soft. The formula didn't level the best, this was about three coats.
I wanted a bit of sparkle so I added a quick layer of Sally Hansen Disco Ball then Insta-Dri.

Sally Hansen Copper Penny & Revlon French Roast

It's been a bit cooler the past couple days, perfect time for some fall nail polish. : )

Well, that and I got this great copper glitter on clearance at Ulta last weekend! I swatched it over four different browns, the one I thought worked the best was Revlon Colorstay French Roast.
I applied 1-2 coats of French Roast, then just one (1!) coat of Sally Hansen Copper Penny from their Complete Salon Manicure line. I think I'm going to have to grab the other bottle of this... it's really pretty and applies so nicely.
And because I can, I added Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond for sparkle and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

Edited to add a couple more photos... and that I'm stopping by Ulta tonight to grab that extra bottle after all! : P

The claw! lol

Sally Hansen Indi-Glow & Finger Paints Art of Theft

I love this combination! I began with a layer of Finger Paints Art of Theft, a pretty dark blue, then topped it with the Sally Hansen glitter Indi-Glow.
Indi-Glow is just so darn gorgeous, a dark blue jelly base with small green glitters that seem to be iridescent. The formula leaves a bit to be desired, the base is pretty gloopy. The glitter spreads easily though, it definitely makes a better topper than using it by itself I think. I still used Sally Hansen Intsa-Dri to seal everything and speed up dry time though.

Sally Hansen Punk Rock

I was at WalMart a few days ago and came across some Sally Hansen Hard as Nails polishes, all were just a couple dollars. This one was the most interesting to me, it's Punk Rock.
It looked mostly green in the bottle, but happily on the nail it's a duochrome! It's a dark green/teal, but at the right angles it changes to a rich blue.

I used three coats; the formula is easy to use, but a bit on the thin side.

Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase

Here is Sally Hansen Chartreuse Chase, part of their Insta-Dri line.
I used two coats and while I love the color, the formula was pretty frustrating to use. The first coat was streaky and for some reason the brush just wasn't as easy to get a nice line as other brands' brushes. Not to mention all the bubbles that appeared after the polish started drying as well as the fact that dry time was pretty long, especially given that it was just two coats. I also ended up getting a few dents quite a while after I applied the polish, probably due to the long dry time.

The color is pretty though and I've gotten several compliments, people can't really see the application issues I had so I guess it's all good.

Sally Hansen Work of Tart

What a pretty color! This is Sally Hansen's Work of Tart, a textured polish that's part of their Sugar Shimmer collection.

I picked up a bottle on clearance at Target this past weekend hoping that the color would be nice, I'm funny about blues on my nails and I couldn't quite tell from online swatches whether it'd work for me or not.

Well, I LOVE it! This is two thin coats and a thicker one, that got the opacity to where I liked it. Folks were saying it dried slow, which yes, it is slower than some of the OPI liquid sand polishes, but by the time the movie I was watching was done, it was dry enough to get ready for bed.
The color is a pretty teal green/blue with an obvious gold shimmer when outside. The shimmer was difficult to capture in photos, but in person it's really pretty.

Needless to say, I went back and picked up a couple back-up polishes the next day! : )

Sally Hansen Lady Luck

This pretty polish is from Sally Hansen's Gem Crush line, this color is Lady Luck. It's a rich raspberry red with great chunky holographic glitters. Application was nice, fairly straightforward. It's very glitter intense, some blobbing around to keep things even was required. The color got nice and saturated after two coats for me, I've read that others have needed three.

Worth noting, this polish gobbles up the top coat so per another blogger's recommendation, I used a layer of clear polish before a layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. Dry time was ok, I got a little bit of fabric wrinkles, but since the polish is so textured you really can't notice.

I really like this polish! I've had it for a little while without wearing it, I'm not sure why I waited so long. Now the question will be how difficult it's going to be to remove! Even if it's tough, it'll be ok since it's so pretty.

Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet

Playing around with my polishes last night, I swatched Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet thinking I wanted something pastel. This is two coats, it needed both to take care of streaks. I then topped two fingers with Sinful Colors green flaky glitter topper, Green Ocean. The picture doesn't show it, but there were some pretty flashes of color from the flakies.

China Glaze Astro-Hot version 2.0

I never thought I'd be so excited to get a chip in my nail polish! lol! Gives me a reason to either change colors or update the existing one.
I went with updating China Glaze Astro-Hot with three different glittery toppers. One would have been fine of course, but sometimes more is definitely better! Over Astro-Hot are thin layers of NY Color Pink Bling, Sally Hansen Diamonds, and Sally Hansen Disco Ball. Sparkly goodness!

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat

My posts are a little out of order, I'm actually still happily wearing Cinderella. I stopped by Ulta today and picked up Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat- ever since getting China Glaze's Stone Cold, I've been wanting to matte-ify all the polishes!
This is Sinful Colors Cinderella, Nicole by OPI's She's Lily Something, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, then added today is Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat. Fun!
