Anise Killer Shoes, Funky Fingers Sand & Stilettos, & Born Pretty L-006

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! This polish is SOOOOO GREAT!! This is Anise Killer Shoes, the prettiest, softest lavender-periwinkle duochrome I've ever seen. This was two coats and it is just so lovely, so easy to apply and wore like a champ!

I only discovered the brand when I went into DSW with a $5 off coupon for my birthday last month. I had picked out some socks when whaaa??? Is that polish I see at the register?!?
I grabbed Killer Shoes, but there were other colors that were pretty great too. (I've since gotten a back-up of Killer Shoes and also After Dark Dinner, a gorgeous dark fuschia.) They're each $6, but it's buy one, get one 50% off. Minus the $5 coupon, heck yeah this amazing polish cost me $1.07!

Over top, I stamped with China Glaze's great silver, I'd Melt for You, using one of the neato Born Pretty plates I picked up in their Black Friday bonanza. And yes, I had just recently received the plate... totally worth the wait though! Everything I purchased was just super, I should do a post on the other nifty things I got.
This is plate BP-L 006, looks like it's sold out at the moment, but it's pretty new so I'm sure they'll get more soon.

My accent nails were one dabbed coat of Funky Fingers Sand & Stilettos over the Killer Shoes, it's the prettiest I've seen Stilettos look. The periwinkle underneath was just perfect. And that SPARKLE! WOOOO! I loved this look and wore it for quite a few days, till the tip wear was finally visible. Love it!

Sally Hansen Moonstone, NOPI Challenge Red-Y, & Born Pretty

Christmas nails! YAY!

I didn't want to spend a lot of time on them since I knew I had a manicure appointment coming up, so I just had fun and did some simple stamping and glitter-fying.
I did learn that two coats of Sally Hansen Moonstone makes a nice pearly base for stamping, I then used NOPI Challenge Red-Y and Sinful Colors Snow Me White for the stamping and as undies for Funky Fingers glitterbomb Fra-Gee-Lay.
The stamping plate I used is Born Pretty 01, it stamps really well!

Sinful Colors Let's Talk & Funky Fingers Anna

I swatched too long last night, ran out of time, and had to paint my nails in the car after I got to work this morning. Clean up? Please. lol
This is Sinful Colors Let's Talk, an amazing electric purple and Funky Fingers glitter Anna from their Frostbitten aka Frozen collection.
Two coats of Let's Talk covers well, but I really don't recommend polishing in the car. : P

YAY for good deals!

Last Tuesday morning, I went out hunting for good polish deals and happily, I found some!

I picked up the last bottle of Color Club The Uptown whose formula has recently been reformulated so now I have a backup. Ulta's clearance section has supplied most of my collection, this trip I found a lovely maroon shimmer by SpaRitual with the prettiest name- Days of Wine and Roses. It reminds me of the book I'm reading, 'The Passage' by Justin Cronin. So yes, I did get this half for the name. : D

Five Below had the Halloween glow-in-the-dark polishes, but I didn't pick any of them up. I may go back for the orange Pumpkin King, but this time I picked up several backup bottles and the rest of the neon rave collection and Varsity Blue.

It was the first time I looked for polish in Marshall's and they had a great selection! It was hard to limit what I brought home, but a two-pack of Orlys and a couple of the OPI Duos with mystery names needed to come with me, also a pretty blue Mariah Carey glitter.

And finally, the main reason I went out, I grabbed a couple Essie nail strips from Dollar Tree! I found the two styles that I wanted, I'm happy about that. I've never worn nail strips/stickers/etc so we'll see how that goes some time in the near future...

Funky Fingers Sand & Stilettos and China Glaze Rendezvous with You

Today I have another really cool Funky Fingers polish, Sand & Stilettos. This is the most holographic glitter I think I have! I mean, other ones are blingy as well like OPI Which is Witch, but for a uniformly-shaped-glitter topper, this one will be hard to beat. There's some silver glitter thrown in there too!

I layered one coat of Sand & Stilettos over one coat of China Glaze Rendezvous with You and topped everything with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri to smooth everything out nice.

Funky Fingers Saved by the Glitter

And here's yet another combination that I just LOVE!
This look started with a Victoria's Secret polish, White Hot. I then layered a generous coat of Funky Fingers awesome Saved by the Glitter over top. There's neon pink and blue and white glitter... all good!
And just because I couldn't stop there, I added a layer of Sally Hansen irridescent glitter Disco Ball. Adding Disco Ball looked amazing in person, not so much in photos unfortunately.
And then of course we have Insta-Dri top coat to seal everything in. This was fun to wear... I'll definitely be rocking this look again in the not-too-distant future.

Funky Fingers Jawbreaker & NY Color Pink Champagne

I like this combo, I think it turned out pretty... lots of layers though...

I started with a coat of China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around (shimmery white) to start getting a white base going.

Then came the nifty polish I wanted to highlight, Funky Fingers Jawbreaker. There are multicolor hex glitters in a white base, the hexes are small and medium sizes and there is small finer glitter mixed in as well.

The glitter ended up being a bit bright for the look I wanted, I was going for something a bit more subtle. Kinda funny when we're talking about multicolor glitter I know, but... yeah. So here comes two layers of NY Color Pink Champagne which is very sheer, but has a nice pink hue and a touch of shimmer as well.

Not one to stop there, I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust... because pretty!
And since all this would have taken forever to dry, I ended things with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. Woot!

Funky Fingers Midge

Yet another gorgeous polish from my awesome haul at 5 Below- this is Funky Fingers Midge.

Coverage was opaque in two easy coats and the holographic glitter in this maroon jelly really is apparent. I think it would stand out even more with a thick layer of topcoat, the polish dries down to a subtle gritty texture.
I have no qualms wearing this one to work... though I did wear those neons yesterday. : P
But that was at my normal, doesn't get a lot of traffic post, and where I'm working today requires a bit more professionalism.

Funky Fingers Olaf & Pure Ice Hit the Floor

Thanks to some lovely blogs, I discovered 5 Below carries some awesome polishes... never knew!

I bought a whole bunch and the first I tried out is this lovely white/holographic glitter from their Frostbitten (aka 'Frozen') collection. This polish is named Olaf. : )
The glitter went on easily and dried very smooth, didn't take very long to dry either! The white snowflakes in the polish will take some work to get out of the bottle, but I was fine with just the white hexes and holo glitter over the red. Gives off a bit of a candy cane vibe... Either way, it's a great polish to liven up some polish you've already been wearing for a day or too like I had been with Pure Ice Hit the Floor.
