LA Girl Burst

I don't have a great sheer pink yet... I have a few, but they're soo sheer that it takes too many coats to get the color and opacity where I want it.

For this result, I started with OPI No Bees Please, then a coat of Rimmel French Rose, then NY Color Pink Champagne, then another coat of French Rose. Layered over top is a coat of LA Girl's wonderful rose and holographic glitter, Burst.

The pink color got where I wanted it to, but that many layers took ages to set. I let everything dry before adding the glitter, Burst is smooth enough so I didn't add top coat.

Orly Masked Ceremony & Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty

I read some 'meh' reviews of Orly Masked Ceremony, but I eneded up really liking it.

The fuschia micro glitter is pretty hidden and the larger square glitters are kind of sparse, but I really like the dark grey/black base and the formula was easy to apply and quick to dry.

This is two coats of Masked Ceremony, then I added a thin coat of Sinful Colors silver glitter Queen of Beauty just to the tips. I really liked this "french manicure"... it was simple to do and is very forgiving.

China Glaze Sand Dolla Make You Holla

I LOVE THIS POLISH! : )
I loved this polish when I first saw swatches, but then I kept reading how people didn't care much for it so I didn't pick it up. I found a bottle at Ulta the other day on sale so I figured I'd give it a try.

This is three easy coats for opacity; this polish is super fun. It has this lovely soft pink/lilac tinge to the white base and all these teeny colored glitters. It truly looks like frosting.
The only thing about textured polish, for me, is waiting the day or so for the roughness along the free edge to wear down. The polish dried quickly and is wearing really well. It's a great polish for when you want something special, but nothing too dark or crazy.

OPI Miami Beet & LA Girl Burst

This was a pretty simple manicure, just a single coat of OPI Miami Beet then a couple layers of LA Girl Burst. I liked the way the holographic glitter bits in Burst modified Miami Beet's fuschia a bit.
Miami Beet isn't one of my favorite colors on its own, but the formula is great. Same for Burst.

Sinful Colors Bali Mist & NY Color Rock the Party

For these colors, I started with a single layer of my favorite black creme, Sinful Colors Black on Black. The formula is so great, if you're careful you only need one coat.
The green nails then have a single coat of Sinful Colors neat-o duochrome Bali Mist. At certain angles, the green switches to the prettiest blue.
For an accent nail, I used a coat of NY Color Rock the Party, another duochrome. This polish isn't a real obvious duochrome, but it does turn green at the right angles in the right lighting. Most of the time it has this purple cast, which is nice on its own.
All nails then have a coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat.

Nina Ultra Pro Electric Slide & China Glaze VIII

Sometimes nail polish combinations can really surprise you, this combo is one of those!

This is one coat of China Glaze's really dark purple creme VIII and then two coats of Nina Ultra Pro Electric Slide. Electric Slide is this crazy-awesome neon yellow/green with glitter.
Layering the neon over the dark creme really highlighted the glitter... bright specks of yellow and green, it's really pretty!

Bonus: Electric Slide dries really smooth, no top coat required!

Spoiled The Parking Meteor Expired

I apologize for the posting delay, it's been pretty busy here lately. I've still been polishing, but sometimes the pictures didn't turn out or I didn't keep the polish on for very long.

Anyhoo! This has to be one of my favorites so far, here is two easy coats of Spoiled The Parking Meteor Expired topped with a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
Parking Meteor has this rich dark teal glow under most light, but can also pass for black at times. I love the Fairy Dust over it, the holographic glitter really pops over the dark base and can be seen really well. It's crazy beautiful in the sun!

I'd like to dedicate this manicure to one of my very favorite artists who we recently lost, H.R. Giger.
His work has always spoken to me and this color combo really reminds me of his Alien creations... dark, sexy, and definitely not from this planet.
