Orly Sparkling Garbage

I love this polish! I think I need to get a few back-ups...
This is Orly Sparkling Garbage, a sheer murky green with tons of itty bitty holographic bits. I used two-three coats and the formula was great, dried really smooth.
I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat so I'm not quite sure how long the Orly would have taken to dry by itself. The topcoat really adds a nice gloss, Sparkling Garbage wasn't gritty though.

Spoiled Shrimp on the Barbie

I'm so happy to have found this color finally! I had seen it at the first CVS I went to, but the only bottle they had had spilled and was all dried out. Third time was the charm and I was able to bring this nifty color home.
Besides having a great name, Spoiled Shrimp on the Barbie is just a neat color. I'd almost call it a duochrome... depending on lighting, it's orange or pink or coral or almost gold. It's got chunky flecks, but dries smooth.
The formula was a bit odd though, it's thick and kinda goopy. Application was simple, but it took a while to dry even after using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat. Usually the Insta-Dri has a certain hardness after a while, but with this polish it never quite seemed to get there. It retained a sense of gumminess... it's hard to describe.
The color is worth it though and I'm glad to have this polish in my collection.

Spoiled skittles!

I just discovered the Spoiled brand a few days ago when I popped into a CVS looking for the new gold label Milani colors.
The brand has some unique colors and their names are pretty funny. The polishes are normally $1.99, but this week they're on sale Buy 2, Get 1 Free. So I did!

Thumb - Shrimp on the Barbie - A perfect shrimpy color! This color is so neat and different, it's a pink/orange/coral with gold flecks/shimmer.
Index - I'm so Plastered - The name! lol! A really pretty rosy metallic.
Middle - Are Mermaids Real? - A nice blurple with lots of gold shimmer.
Ring - Fair Metal - A bright lilac chrome.
Pinky - I'm so Jaded - The perfect acid green with shimmer, love it!

The two metallics apply really nicely, no brushstrokes and they seem like they'll dry in a decent amount of time. I used two coats on all fingers, except my middle and pinky, those are three coats. All the formulas were fine to apply, dry time seems to be a bit longer than I'd like.
I've read online that this brand's brushes can be really wonky, so I made sure to check all of mine before I purchased. Some were definitely better than others!

Finger Paints Colorful Dream

Here's two coats of Sally Hansen Black Diamonds, then two coats of Finger Paints Colorful Dream. This is the first time I've really used a flakie polish and I think they turned out so pretty. I wanted the colors to stand out a bit more, so I topped everything with Sally Hansen Big Matte Topcat.
AND IT NEVER DRIED! AHHHHH!

My nails were dry to the touch, but after washing my hands in warm water the polish just goopily slid right off. I was so bummed, they were so pretty!
I'm not sure which product had problems drying, I'll try again later. At least I got a picture!

Sinful Colors Leather Loosed

Looking over the Sinful Colors display in WalMart last weekend, I was happy to find a few polishes I hadn't found in Walgreen's.
This is Leather Loosed, a matte dark brown with small coppery flecks. The color is nice and application was fairly easy, it definitely needs at least two coats. It dries quickly as well, always nice.
Overall, the polish is ok, I wish the copper flecks stood out a bit more though. Maybe topcoat would help that along.

China Glaze Riveting & Orly Lavish Bash

China Glaze Riveting is from the Capitol Collection (Hunger Games), I've ended up owning several polishes from that collection that I really like. The formula was just perfect, nearly a one-coater and easy to manipulate around the cuticle into getting a nice curve.
I topped Riveting with two coats of Orly Lavish Bash. This glitter topper is great! It's gold microglitter and teeny holographic bar glitter in a clear base, you get a nice glitter payout even with just one coat. I wanted even more, so I went with two. Normally I really can't stand bar glitters, but they're so teeny in this- they look like sparkly little metal slivers.
Dry time was running a bit long so I added a layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat and now everything's sealed in and glossy.

China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard & Nina Ultra Pro Electric Slide

I've gotten a little bit out of order, but one of the reasons I purchased China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard was to use it as undies for Nina Ultra Pro Electric Slide.
I saw this amazing neon lemon-lime at Sally Beauty and it had to come home with me! The formula is pretty sheer, hence the layering.
Besides the color of course, I really like how Electric Slide isn't too glitter intense. There's just enough to add interest without competing with the color.

SinfulShine Rendezvous & LA Girl Burst

Is it bad that I don't even remember purchasing SinfulShine Rendezvous? Or does it just mean that I'm now a genuine polish collector?? lol!
Rendezvous is a pretty Tiffany blue color, a little bit dusty. The formula is a bit tricky, but if you're careful two coats makes for good opaque coverage. I knew I was going to add glitter so I wasn't too picky about getting everything 100% level.
Something I've always admired amongst other nail polish bloggers is their ability to layer glitter over unusual colors and have it look so pretty!
I'm happy with this combination, I layered two easy coats of LA Girl Burst over top and it adds a nice rosy holographic touch. The glitter has great coverage and is easy to apply. Another plus is that, for a glitter, it dries really smooth! Not glassy smooth, but smooth enough that I felt top coat wasn't necessary.

China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard

WOW! I really love green polish so it was just a matter of time before I added a neon to the mix. This color is so neat, it looks almost radioactive in the sunlight!
Formula wise, it's not terrible. This is two coats and it definitely needs it, the first is pretty sheer and so I made the second fairly thick. The polish dries pretty quickly, there's not much time to fiddle with it. I like the finish, it's sorta between matte and semi-gloss?
I think I need to add a couple more neons to the collection soon...

matte-tastic Essence Oh My Glitter! & Sinful Colors Ice Dream

Had some fun with my Essence Oh My Glitter! manicure the other day, I added some Sinful Colors Ice Dream to my ring fingers and then matte-fied everything with Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat.
I like the velvety texture the matte gives, it's fun to have a new way to play with polish!

Essence Oh My Glitter! & Pure Ice Don't You Wish

I picked up this lovely purple at Ulta a while ago, I had never heard of Essence polish before. This is Oh My Glitter!, but it doesn't really feature glitter so much as a pretty pink shimmer. The brush is huge, but works really well with my nail shape.
I used two coats, then a layer of Pure Ice Don't You Wish for the blue shimmer. The blue adds a touch more umph, while not overtaking the beautiful color. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri sealed everything in with a nice gloss.
I want to get some more Essence colors, I just wish they came in larger bottles! I want MOAR!

China Glaze Hologlam

I've been wanting to do this for a while! I really love China Glaze's Hologlam collection and I'm well on my way to owning all the colors. All the colors work so well together, I've been wanting to try a rainbow/ombre effect.
Pinkies: OMG a UFO
Ring Fingers: Cosmic Dust
Middle Fingers: Sci-Fly By
Index Fingers: Take a Trek
Thumbs: Get Outta My Space
This is two coats of each color, then a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust just because and sealed with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. Pretty!

China Glaze Howl You Doin'

I picked up China Glaze Howl You Doin' on clearance at Sally Beauty the other day, it's pretty neat.
It's a dark glitter, with purple and orange/copper. It definitely needs a couple coats and at least a layer of top coat, I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. One thing to note, this was a *beast* to remove! I'm going to pick up one of those scrubby jars soon, hopefully that will help save me some money on cotton pads.

China Glaze Wish on a Starfish

I finally figured out what this color pink reminded me of! Dubble Bubble gum! lol
My bf really likes this, especially when the sun makes all the gold glitter pop. China Glaze Wish on a Starfish is pretty textured, a lot more than the couple OPI Liquid Sands I have. It's also more sheer than I thought it would be, this is about 2.5 coats, I went over the whites a third time- a benefit to texture! lol
This is the first polish I've worn that I feel doesn't work well with my skin tone though, I think I'll reserve it for when I'm going to be outside all day.
The glitter really is gorgeous!

OPI No Bees Please & China Glaze Travel in Colour

I was so happy when I brought up two mini bottles of China Glaze Travel in Colour to the register at Ulta and they rang up as $.01 each! So, yeah I bought both... wish they'd had more!
I wore three coats of OPI No Bees Please for a day or two, then put a layer of Travel in Colour over it, no top coat needed. Travel in Colour is so pretty, it's the finest fuchsia shimmer in a clear base, but when you look really close there's actually turquoise shimmer too! The formula was great and the shimmer it adds is really pretty... not to mention the killer price I got it for!

OPI Magazine Cover Mouse

I've really been enjoying OPI's Liquid Sand polishes these past few days! They apply easily, wear well, and are just so sparkly!
This is OPI Magazine Cover Mouse and unfortunately the pictures don't do justice to the pretty sparkle this polish has. It's a nice strawberry red with gold and pink shimmery glitter. I didn't use any top coat, maybe next time.

OPI What Wizardry is This?

I picked up this polish on clearance a few days ago and until last night hadn't really tried it on yet. It definitely needs two coats... it's amazing what that second coat does! I'm sure the color isn't for everyone, it's a medium brown texture with hints of gold, but it's really suiting me today. The formula was easy to apply and the dry time was just fine. I added two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri on my ring fingers, it's not quite thick enough to get the finish completely smooth though. A thicker top coat would do the trick and would be really pretty!

Sinful Colors Just You Wait

Sinful Colors Just You Wait is a very sheer duochrome, for me it flashes mostly gold with some pink and a touch of green. This was two-three coats and the formula applied nicely. The whites of my nails are stained yellow a bit, so next time I try this I'll be layering it over some other colors first.

Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet

Playing around with my polishes last night, I swatched Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet thinking I wanted something pastel. This is two coats, it needed both to take care of streaks. I then topped two fingers with Sinful Colors green flaky glitter topper, Green Ocean. The picture doesn't show it, but there were some pretty flashes of color from the flakies.

Seche Nostalgic & All Lit Up

Like buttah! That's how lovely these formulas are! They're just about one-coaters and they stay wet just long enough for me to really spend time on getting a nice curve along my cuticles. I topped them with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
The colors look so lovely together, I couldn't help but use them both equally. That's still work appropriate, right? lol

China Glaze Astro-Hot version 2.0

I never thought I'd be so excited to get a chip in my nail polish! lol! Gives me a reason to either change colors or update the existing one.
I went with updating China Glaze Astro-Hot with three different glittery toppers. One would have been fine of course, but sometimes more is definitely better! Over Astro-Hot are thin layers of NY Color Pink Bling, Sally Hansen Diamonds, and Sally Hansen Disco Ball. Sparkly goodness!

China Glaze Astro-Hot

I just picked up this lovely color today on sale from Ulta and I'm so happy I did! I wasn't sure how I would like it, sometimes even looking at swatches online isn't convincing. It truly is a mix between pink and lilac, a bit more pink I think.
The formula dries so quickly with these Hologlam polishes, I really like that. This is two coats topped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. I like adding the topcoat, it adds a glossy shine and I feel it protects the polish a bit.

China Glaze Agro

I've had this polish for a few weeks now and I'm surprised this is the first time I've worn it- it's lovely! The formula is great, this is two easy coats topped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri.
The only issue I had is a fairly large chip the next morning which is kind of unusual for me. Even if it's chip-prone, I still love this color and look forward to wearing it again.
